OCTOBER HOUSE CONCERT

Welcome back to our 2010-2011 season! October marks the
beginning of our season and the Oktoberfest (more information
below). In addition, we’ll kick off the season with the
October house concert:

Our October house concert will take place on Saturday, October
16th
at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Carole Barnes,(916) 422-3581
and will feature James Gentry, bass-baritone and the Capitol
Chamber Players.

UPCOMING CONCERTS BY SATURDAY CLUB MEMBERS

The Zephyr Wind Quintet will present a recital titled Women in
Music on Friday, October 8th, 12 noon at Sacramento State
University Library Gallery.
The program will be about 50 minutes long and it is free of charge.
The Zephyr Wind Quintet’s members are all freelance musicians,
many with ties to the university, that come together to do what
they love — play chamber music.
The members are Karen Bjork on flute, Chris Sunahara on oboe,
Hank King on clarinet, Helen Kilpatrick on horn and Eva Kidwell
on bassoon.
The program “Women in Music” will complement the featured
exhibit of the CSUS Library Gallery right now.

MUSIC’S RE-CREATION presents BACH AND HIS FRENCH CONTEMPORARIES
The internationally acclaimed Baroque ensemble Music’s Re-
creation celebrating a career of more than thirty years: “an

Our November House Concert will take place on Saturday,
November 20th at the home of Jan Luoma, and will feature Jan
Luoma and Gary Dillworth, trumpet.

it with your annual dues (basic level $25 individual/$40

Saturday Club members who are performing in concerts may submit
articles about their upcoming performances. The deadline for
all articles for the November 2010 newsletter is the 20th of
October, 2010. Articles should be written and either sent by
mail to Gerry Greer, or e-mailed to recorder@inreach.com.
